Meeting new parents for the first time is always exciting. There is nothing like having a new baby in the house–it’s a time when everything feels special. And when it’s a first baby, that seems even more true. Being asked to photograph a newborn is a wonderful blessing for me and one of my favorite kinds of session. I was lucky enough to meet these parents when I was in Washington DC, and I felt honored that they invited me into their Capitol Hill home to document those special days. Henrietta was just two weeks old and the sweetest baby. She was wide awake and calm and peaceful–such a joy for her parents who cherish her so much. I loved the heirloom crocheted blanket that belonged to her mama when she was a baby.
