QUESTIONS

What happens first?

Once you get in touch, we'll chat about the kind of session you're looking for and set a date, time, and location. Or we can meet up in person, by Zoom, whatever! Your session fee or deposit reserves a spot for you in my calendar.

will you help me decide what to wear?

Absolutely! I have plenty of tips for all types of sessions. Mostly I think everyone looks best when they're comfortable and wearing something that feels like them. Want me to help you Say Yes to the Dress? That would be a first, but I'm up for it!

what if we have to reschedule?

Weather, illness, emergencies, pandemics... they have a way of disrupting things. I'm always happy to reschedule. If it's raining for your outdoor session, we'll have to find another day. If I or anyone in your family is ill, we'll wait until everyone is better.

WHAT happens after the shoot?

In a perfect world, I love to sit down with clients in the comfort of your home or a local coffee shop to go through your images and help you finalize your order. If that's not possible, you'll get an online gallery to browse. Either way, expect to hear from me within a week or two for short sessions, and three to four for births, weddings, events, and full-day documentary sessions.

will my photos be used for marketing purposes?

As a photographer, having images to show potential clients is a big part of my business. But you have the right to opt out of having your photos used in some or all situations. This is part of the contract you will sign that protects both of us.

do you offer retouching?

Yes, to a point. I don't change body shape or anything drastic. I will take care of that nasty zit or speck of fuzz we didn't see. I always give a little attention to yellow teeth and dark circles (we almost all get them sometimes and no one likes them). Less retouching is usually needed in documentary images, but I've been known to Photoshop out that Dunkin cup someone left on a table to sneak into your photos! If you need more extensive retouching than what I provide, it's available for a surcharge.

do you offer mini sessions?

Not usually. I like to spend time with my clients and get to know them so I'm confident their photos are reflecting who they really are. Longer shoots also give everyone time to warm up and feel more comfortable, especially kids! It's rare that the very first photos I take end up being favorites, so we'll devote enough time that you will get the very best I can offer.
